Now that the festivities are over and we are back home, I wanted to talk to you all about my Christmas Autism Meltdown. It’s never a nice experience, but having a meltdown in front of the entire family, including the kids, thats really not nice!

Christmas is a difficult event for me, there are a lot of things that contribute to my Aspergers & Autism getting worse which, throughout the year are easy to manage. Unfortunately, Christmas is an event which is A) Unavoidable & B) Very over stimulating.

This Year, as with the years previous, we went and stayed with my in-laws, We visited family on Christmas eve & had a fabulous Christmas day! Unfortunately, the whole thing was quite a lot to take in and on Boxing day, after a day of over stimulation, shopping, autism blips & generally feeling a little uncomfortable, mixed with having a. few drinks, it all went a bit wrong. Heres, what happened & some details from the meltdown.

If you have any ideas or suggestions for a video, please drop then in the comments below or on any of our Social Media :).

If your interested in finding out what Christmas was like for a family from the perspective of a parent, I highly recommend checking out Tina Bailey’s article where she talks about her families Christmas Autism Routines for their young child Sam who has Autism :).

I am completely open to any questions you’ve got and I mean what I’ve said! Don’t be afraid to ask! No question is a stupid one, if it helps you understand yourself or someone close to you better!
